A new, innovative mixed-use design puts to rest out-moded patterns of development. The design expresses the concept of a New England coastal village. Planning and design for the Estate respond to the coastal New England context in form and materials. A tight Village Center of mixed-use buildings includes a landmark tower, a village green and town common. An estate-like grouping of structures wrapped in balconies and punctuated with arches and dormers recalls large shingle-style buildings along the coast. Working closely with the developer, public relations firms and the town, the design has received town approval, even in an environment of skepticism toward development.
